Foster Parent Required Training

All MAD Rescue foster parents are required to complete training prior to welcoming a dog into their home. This training is designed to set both the foster family and the dog up for success from day one. It provides practical guidelines on how to safely and thoughtfully bring a new dog into the home, manage the transition period, and support positive interactions with people, children, and other pets.

The training also covers important topics such as canine behavior, decompression, common medical and behavioral concerns, and disease awareness. Fosters learn best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy environment, recognizing potential health risks, and protecting both resident pets and family members. By ensuring all fosters receive consistent education and guidance, MAD Rescue helps create stable, informed foster homes where dogs can thrive and begin their journey toward a successful permanent placement.
